Honghu, located in Central South of Hubei Province, a place known as the “Kidney of Hubei”, has 102 lakes in the city. And is an important Wetland Nature Reserve in China. The terrain is gently sloping from northwest to southeast. It is the place where the four lakes converge (Changhu, Sanhu, Bailu Lake, Honghu) and belongs to the subtropical humid monsoon climate. The so-called “one side of water and soil, raising one side” is precisely this unique geographical environment that gave birth to the “gold-absorbing artifact” amphibious excavator.
Dasha a Town of Honghu City , is the “amphibious excavator capital” in China. More than 80% of the cnountry’s amphibious excavators are from here. The modified excavator can be operated on water depth above 80 centimeters, and can be used for river channel dredging and water management in reservoirs, fish ponds and urban construction, wetland swamps and resource development and environment of rivers, lakes, seas and tidal flats remediation, etc. The amphibious excavator has brought about twice the economic benefits of the ordinary land-use crawler excavator.
Our host today is Mr Yang Jinle, a user of the Doosan amphibious excavator in Dasha.
Early in the morning, we rushed to Mr Yang’s construction site. He took time out of his busy schedule and talked to us about his story.
“Products are valuable, experience is priceless”-From excavator driver to being the boss, Mr. Yang laughed to himself: “The expert who grew up from Xiaobai has also gone through many detours and learned a lot from failures.
Yang is a descendant of Henan immigrants. He was born in Dasha Town, Honghu City, Hubei Province. He is a native of Honghu. He started his business in 2005, from a common excavator driver become the direction mark of amphbious excavator in Dasha Town, Honghu City, Hubei Province. The business has grown from Honghu to the whole province and all over China. At present, the engineering business has started to develop overseas.
By the end of 2019, he had owned 43 Doosan amphibious excavators and established his own enterprise.

Mr Yang’s busy work on amphibious excavators

When I first started working as an excavator driver, I was busy between paddy fields and rural rivers every day. Since then, he has slowly accumulated contacts, and walked down one step at a time with his hardworking spirit.
Rarity is the most valuable thing, as the construction volume of amphibious excavators is getting bigger and bigger, and the prices are getting higher and higher, he began to embark on the road of entrepreneurship.
Relying on the savings that I have worked hard for a few years, I bought the first Doosan amphibious excavator in my life. After two years of good management, with a keen sense of the industry market, I have made my own business rapid progress!
Mr Yang said: “I only came back from Myanmar a few days ago. The current engineering environment is big ups and downs and the project is harder than before. Now if we do not develop our own overseas market, after several years of market fluctuations, our business will be even harder.”
“However, what we can do is to understand the market and customer needs, and then find related technical solutions, so that the probability of success will be greater. Now the ordinary arm length equipment may not meet the needs of customer, we also needs to modify the excavators with extension boom to fulfill the special needs of customer”.
