Track Chains: The Core Driving Force of Your Pontoon Undercarriage
The Function of Track Chains:
Track Chains are the fundamental and most critical component within the track assembly, responsible for transmitting power from the sprocket to propel the machine. Their integrity directly dictates the stability, efficiency, and overall performance of the equipment.
What’s “Wear Parts Trio?
Our track chains are precision-engineered as an integrated system, comprising several key parts: the outer link plate, inner link plate, roller, bushing (middle sleeve), sprocket pin (axle pin), and retaining pin. Among these, the roller, bushing, and sprocket pin form the essential “Wear Parts Trio.”
This “Trio” is the heart of the chain’s movement and bears the brunt of the load, making it the most susceptible to wear and tear under normal operation. To ensure optimal performance and prevent unexpected downtime, we highly recommend proactively inspecting and replacing these core wear parts every 2,000 operating hours or 12 months, whichever comes first. This maintenance schedule is crucial for protecting the more expensive surrounding structures and maintaining maximum power transmission efficiency.
The Manufacturing Process & Stength of Track Chains
Manufactured from 40Cr steel (DIN 41Cr4), our track chain rollers undergo a rigorous quenching and tempering process. This heat treatment ensures a hardened surface of HRC 50-56, providing the durability required for this critical wear component in amphibious excavator operations. By focusing on the durability of these critical internal components, our track chains deliver unmatched strength, seamless articulation, and an extended service life, even in the most demanding working conditions.
